Behavior Intervention Services
MVHS has two School Social Workers. School Social Workers are the link between school, home and community. They focus on developing school-wide capacity to support students in two key areas: attendance and behavior. School Social Workers serve the entire school population. They are part of the Student Support Services team and work alongside School Counselors, Administrators, Teachers, and community partners to develop school-wide systems of support for students at risk of school disengagement, chronic absenteeism, mental health problems, and substance abuse. They offer brief supports for students and families experiencing personal, family, cultural, and environmental barriers to academic success.
